WWW to non-WWW a simple but often overlooked SEO trick
Often while doing website reviews we find that the www and non www urls of a domain don’t actually point to the same place. A lot of people don’t realise that www.yourdomain.com is actually a subdomain of yourdomain.com. This can lead to poor performance of your site in SEO terms. Having two paths to the same page can dilute the effective authority of your pages in the search engines index. There is really only one solution to this problem and its called a 301 redirect. We are off to deliver the second part of the Digital Enterprise program on behalf of 3P Consulting today. We set the attending businesses some homework 2 weeks ago and I can’t wait to see what they found out about their businesses. We asked them to do just a little bit of online keyword research around their business – to me this is the most exciting processes as you delve into your business and discover things you may not of know or you had just forgotten. Plus you can get a solid idea of how to market your business online....

Today I was fortunate to be invited to a breakfast put on by Fairfax Media Ltd. The breakfast was to start the promotion of a new social media site called Connect Pink. They are aiming to launch this new social platform in June. How is this social platform different from all those others out there? Great question and one that was answered by Ros Marsden, the Sales and Marketing Director of this new initiative. Instead of just hearing what your friends are up too you will be able to choose to have certain types of news delivered to your feed...

This slide struck me as being inconsistent with what I understood about social media. What does StumbleUpon have to do with social media its not a site like facebook or twitter where you talk to followers, friends and family. Who knew that StumbleUpon was actually social media obviously I didn’t. But of course it is, people trawling the net vote with likes and dislikes for sites that interest them. StumbleUpon then ranks and sorts these votes and delivers the urls in a semi random manner to interested stumblers. All pretty simple...

If you haven’t heard about the viral campaign, Kony 2012, you MUST be living under a rock or not use the Internet, watch TV, read the papers or listen to the radio.. Kony 2012 is a campaign started last year by “Invisible Children” an organization that tries to help African children caught up in wars in their continent..
